The right for exploration is the legal institution that makes understanding of still known or not well known mineral resources possible. Should the owner of right for exploration (mining entrepreneur) find any mineral resource in the course of permitted exploration activity to which the entitlement doesn’t extend, he shall be obliged to notify the Mining Authority of the presence of the newly found mineral resource. The mining entrepreneur may submit an application in which he may request the extension of either the concession contract or the permit from the Mining Authority to this mineral resource.
The permit for exploration may not be extended to any mineral resource to which the exploration site is considered as closed (paragraph (7) of Section 22 of Bt.)
